Welcome to the home page of cad4theatre Since 2000 cad4theatre, run by David Ripley, has been providing AutoCAD Training to the Theatre and Entertainment Industries. I provide training for practitioners in a variety of disciplines across the industry as well as students and their tutors. I am an Autodesk AutoCAD 2009 Certified Associate and also have City & Guilds qualifications in Draughting with AutoCAD The majority of the training is provided via the ABTT and covers AutoCAD versions from 2000/2000i to the current version AutoCAD 2010.The training I provide is generally by Distance Delivery with full email support. Most recently I have changed the format of the course materials from paper based to HTML units with simple Flash videos 2005 saw the release by ET Press of AutoCAD - A Handbook for Theatre Users which contains elements of the training course as well as other useful sections As well as teaching CAD on a variety of performance related course such as those at Rose Bruford, Central St Martin’s College of Art and others I also use AutoCAD myself, providing draighting and surveying services. I also teach on the ABTT’s Gold Award, covering technical drawings in theatres. In addition I also provide consultancy services to those setting up or trying to maintain CAD systems in terms of deployment and standards. I have recently been working on the Lighting Standards for CCSkills which is part of the National Skills Academy project. I am a member of both the ABTT and ALD as well as a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy I am now the UK and Ireland dealer for Design and Drafting’s LD Assistant; an extremely powerful lighting and visualisation programme based on Autodesk Technology Please let me know any comments or questions you have, either about the site or using CAD in the Theatre using the address below. |
