AutoCAD for Theatre Course

The AutoCAD for Theatre course cover the skills required to get the most out of AutoCAD for users in the entertainment and allied industries.

The course is in 6 parts, starting with the basics and moving through to many of AutoCAD’s advanced features. It is presented on CD in an HTML format for easy navigation. There are Flash videos of the tools in use throughout the coursework which is in the form of a single project drawing up a small studio theatre space.

There are exercises through the coursework for submission to myself and at the conclusion of each part a 10 question multiple choice self test session. The course is mapped to the ECDL - CAD qualification which can be taken at many colleges across the UK and the rest of Europe. More information on ECDL -CAD here You can see the course syllabus here

If you are a member of the ABTT, SBTD, or FST contact the appropriate office to take part. These versions of the course are offered as an exclusively distance learning package. ABTT Training can be emailed from here for ABTT and SBTD members, FST Training here

Educational Organisations

Various permutations of the AutoCAD courses are available to educational institutions allowing you to offer training across your technical courses. These are run by me using the existing courses as a framework. The course can be delivered as is or as a bespoke version written around your students needs and learning outcomes. Courses can be delivered on CD in a variety of formats to suit most current VLEs such as Moodle, Blackboard etc

If you have specific requirements for training or particular areas that you wish to be covered, please get in touch. As with all courses, these can be delivered in person or by distance learning or any combination of the two.

Course Support

Support for all courses is via email, although visits can be made by arrangement. Support extends beyond the course to general questions on using AutoCAD in a theatrical environment. If required an organisational email can be set up and monitoring of students progress can also be arranged.
